ISH product launches mark centenary for Conex Bänninger

March 2009
Visitors to the Conex Bänninger stand, the widely recognised brand identity of IBP, will be able to see the company celebrate its centenary year with the launch of some major new product ranges. The introduction of the new Conex Push-Fit range, along with the relaunch of Bänninger Cuprofit and Bänninger >B< Flex products, will mark the culmination of a long process of investment in innovation and manufacturing excellence.

The new Conex Push-Fit range of dezincification-resistant brass plumbing fittings is the answer to the installer’s needs for flame-free jointing. Suitable for a wide variety of applications, Conex Push-Fit connects with multiple tube types - including copper, stainless steel, carbon steel and plastics (PB & PE-X).

The push-fit range is quick and easy to install. It takes just five seconds to create a secure, leak-free joint. A specially designed grab ring ensures the fitting is firmly secured but not fixed. This allows for system realignment of valves and gauges. The fitting can also be demounted using a professional release tool and reused up to 20 times.

The new system can be used for hot and cold potable water, heating, and chilled water systems. Its ease of installation and its simple, robust design makes it the obvious choice for installers. Conex Push-Fit is approved by WRAS and the Irish Board of Agrément with DVGW pending. The approved range will also include fittings suitable for multilayer pipe.

Bänninger >B< Flex is a multi-layer fitting and pipe system, with a wide range of fittings available to suit individual needs. The fittings have a brass body with a stainless steel sleeve, plastic positioning ring and two EPDM o-rings. The brass bodies are given surface hardening to maximise durability. The two main >B< Flex ranges are a U profile fitting (F5) with pipe location holes, and a TH profile range (F9) which incorporates a leak indicator. A nickel-plated range is also available. Flame free installation is achieved through the use of quick and easy crimping tools.

Conex Bänninger offers a range of crimp fittings for drinking water, stainless steel and solar applications. These fittings have a unique pressing indicator which allows the fitting to leak at very low pressures where the crimping process has been missed. This is achieved through a patent-applied o-ring which, when crimped, provides a secure joint.

ISH will also offer the chance to see the expanded and improved Bänninger Cuprofit range of slim-line push-fit fittings, specifically designed for connecting copper to copper. The new Cuprofit fittings have been redesigned with fewer internal parts making them more slimline and reliable than ever. Bänninger Cuprofit will be available in a wider range of sizes from 10-28mm making it an ideal choice for any flame-free copper to copper connection.

The launch of these new products marks the beginning of Conex Bänninger’s centenary celebrations. From humble beginnings as a metal foundry in Germany in 1909, Conex Bänninger has grown considerably – a growth which has consistently been based on innovation of fitting technology and customer service. The company has adopted a special centenary philosophy: Doing More. This positive principle is being applied to every area of the business - from tailor-made customer solutions on packaging and logistics, to making contributions to sustainability.
Conex Bänninger continues to set the standards in the industry with the launch of new fittings and ideas which are set to become the industry benchmark. Conex Bänninger offers a wide variety of connecting technologies including end feed, compression, threaded, crimp, solder ring and push-fit.
